Discover the fascinating world of honey bees during a free, family-friendly afternoon at Wagner Farm Arboretum & Gardens! Join us on Saturday, August 15, from 12:00–4:00 p.m. to learn more about these essential pollinators, how honey is harvested and the important role bees play in our gardens and food supply.
Visitors can enjoy live honey extraction demonstrations, meet our beekeepers, sample & purchase local honey, participate in bee-themed crafts and activities, explore a pollinator scavenger hunt and follow a self-guided StoryWalk®. Bee Storytime will also be offered throughout the afternoon.

Explore the World of Herbs in the Garden!
Join herbalist and educator Justine DeMarco at Wagner Farm Arboretum for an introduction to herbs growing at the Farm.
During this educational program, Justine will discuss plants such as echinacea, yarrow, violet, feverfew, rose, mullein, and more. Participants will learn about the traditional uses of these herbs, their growing conditions, their energetics within various herbal traditions, and the plant parts commonly used in herbal practices.

NASA International Observe the Moon Night
Join us at Wagner Farm Arboretum for a very special evening under the stars as we participate in NASA’s International Observe the Moon Night!
NASA Solar System Ambassador Bill Funcheon, along with members of the New Jersey Astronomical Association (NJAA), will be on hand with 25 astronomers and more than 50 telescopes, offering visitors incredible close-up views of the Moon and other celestial objects.

This event is FREE and open to the public, but advance registration is required due to limited parking. Registration is by vehicle — only ONE ticket is needed per car, regardless of the number of passengers. Parking is limited to 100 vehicles.
Because clear skies are essential for viewing, the event will only take place if weather conditions are favorable. Please check the Wagner Farm Arboretum Facebook or Instagram before heading out for confirmation that the program will proceed as scheduled.

Join Paul Cirillo to learn techniques for identifying constellations and locating planets while discovering essential internet resources for the beginning astronomer. This educational session includes a star map demonstration and tips for viewing the International Space Station and satellites without a telescope; the program is geared for adults and children ages 12 and older.
Planning your summer garden?
Join us for a Community Seed Swap. Sample seeds provided by Wagner Farm Arboretum. We encourage you also to bring your seeds and gardening stories for swapping.
Seeds should be in a labeled container with the crop type, variety and year grown.
Please bring extra ziplock bags, paper packets or other potential seed containers for seeds you may receive.
At this event you will also have an opportunity to meet some WFA volunteers.

The Wagner Farm Arboretum and the Little Free Library program invite you to an out of this world book event. In anticipation of the Wagner Farm Arboretum Free Astronomy Event we are having a book give away for all interested in space, space travel, the universe and all things space science. Each child who stops in at this free event will be able to pick out up to four different space related books to keep! There are over 25 different titles to pick from – ranging from very young to middle school readers.

Join us for a fascinating program led by Cathy Cooney, a lifelong butterfly enthusiast with a BS in Earth Science from Glassboro State College/Rowan University and on the board of Wagner Farm Arboretum Foundation. Cathy has spent the last four years raising, studying, and tagging butterflies and moths, and is an active member of both the New Jersey Butterfly Club and the North American Butterfly Association.

On-site parking is plentiful. Experienced gardeners will be staffing the sale and available to answer your gardening questions, assist you with your purchases and help load your car. We invite you to visit the WFA greenhouse and the new Senior Garden with raised beds for those 70+ or with mobility issues.
The arboretum is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and all proceeds from the plant sale will benefit the arboretum’s programs. The arboretum accepts cash, checks, credit cards, PayPal and Zelle as payment. See you there!

This meeting is only for those who are members of the Wagner Farm Arboretum and are either new and/or inexperienced Community Gardeners.
The Community Garden will be holding a 2024 COMMUNITY GARDENER ORIENTATION MEETING for those who are new to the WFA Community Garden on Saturday April 13, 2024 at 1 pm. The location will be in the garden gazebo or in the greenhouse (if inclement weather). Bring a folding chair if you like.
This meeting is only for those who are members of the Wagner Farm Arboretum and are experienced Community Gardeners.
The Community Garden will be holding a 2024 COMMUNITY GARDENER ORIENTATION MEETING for returning gardeners on Sunday March 24, 2024. If the weather is wet, the meeting will be in the arboretum office. If the weather is sunny, the meeting will be held in the garden gazebo as originally planned.
Note that there will be a separate NEW GARDENER ORIENTATION MEETING on Saturday April 13, 2024.
