Any amount helps us achieve our goals

Thank you for your interest in donating to WFA. All of our programs are run by volunteers and funded with donations, like yours. Our goal is to expand the existing Children’s Garden area and create new garden areas with walking trails, native plantings, an outdoor educational classroom and pavilion. We hope to create an inviting outdoor space that harmonizes with the natural meadows surrounding the Community Garden and Children’s Garden. Join us in our quest!

If you would like to make a donation to the Wagner Farm Arboretum, please make your check payable to Wagner Farm Arboretum Foundation, Inc. and mail it to: Wagner Farm Arboretum Foundation, Inc. 197 Mountain Avenue, Warren, New Jersey 07059.

We appreciate and welcome your financial support. Please feel free to contact the Arboretum office at 908-350-7383 if you wish to be contacted by one of our WFA Officers or our Grants Chairperson. Our major projects are described below.

Greenhouse

In November 2011 WFA began a Fundraising and Grant application effort to help us build a Greenhouse at the Arboretum grounds. The WFA Trustees attended the July 2018 Town Council meeting where Jonathan Jeans and Ernie Cottrell presented the two possible locations for the greenhouse. The Town Council declared its continued support of WFA and the building of a greenhouse on the grounds of the Arboretum.

The purpose of this Greenhouse is to support the thriving Growing-to-Give program. The volunteers will be able to start vegetable plants in the greenhouse and transplant them to the Giving Garden, throughout the growing season. The vegetables grown and harvested (100% done by Wagner Farm volunteers) are then distributed to Somerset County area Food Banks and Soup Kitchens.

Naming Opportunities

The Wagner Farm Arboretum on a regular basis, makes plans to add notable items at the Arboretum, allowing you to have a place for your name to show your support. The following are currently offered for naming: Brick Paving Stones, Park Benches, Trees, and Life Size Cows! A list of specific items needed for the Children’s Garden is available upon request. Please read about the Children’s Garden and see the latest Landscape Master Plan for the Arboretum. All naming opportunities add to the beauty of the Arboretum.

Grants

The Grants committee is actively seeking grants for several projects related to horticulture, The Children’s Garden, environment and community support for Food Banks and Soup Kitchens.

Over the years, local Corporations have awarded small grants to fund horticultural projects in the Giving Garden. Click here to read more about the Giving Garden project’s successes in growing and delivering fresh produce to area food banks and soup kitchens.

Wagner Farm Arboretum has been the recipient of grants to install a deer fence around our community garden; to replace raised beds in our Giving Garden; and educational programs for children/youth: learning and working in an outdoor garden.
